Here I Am

(I'm Back and Unashamed to Cry)

Hello, world!

I'm apparently pretty bad at this timely manner stuff.  In the time since you've last seen me, this blog has grown a hefty beard, befriended a volley ball, and has gotten into do-it-yourself dentistry.  Turns out that Folsom prison is actually just a cave with a facebook-ready computer and accessible wifi next to the 1 train.  I'm ready for resocialization, and I swear I'll be a better blog next time.

(A Timely Manor)
I've also just recovered from a case of laryngitis.  At least I think it was laryngitis... It could have been a relapse of puberty in my mid-twenties, but I'm positive I battled that into remission years ago.  I did enjoy repeatedly singing "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love Baby," for what it's worth, though.  Too cheesy?

No?  The 90s?

The Kind is writing.  Just this last weekend we began writing a song dedicated to all you red-headed girls out there.  This was Henry's (our keyboard/accordion player/hunting-dog's) idea.  Henry loves red-headed women.  We plan to have a good amount of new tunes for you all by the time May rolls around, which is when Residency will be paying a visit again (refer to blog post #2) for a month long fling, and we'll be playing every week at The Village Lantern.  We're especially excited about having this in May, as the weather will be warm, the doors will be open, and we will be ready to rock your socks (and what little else you're wearing) off.

Aside from writing, there's a lot going on behind the scenes right now.  As a band, we want very badly to make it, and we want to take you guys along with us.  You might have to carry something.

We're working on stirring the pot a bit, changing a few things around and evolving our image, getting some great merch for you guys to sport around, and increasing our web presence.  Next time you see The Kind, it's not just going to be a mutual wave-hello-to-each-other sort of thing; We're going to tackle you and give you raspberries until you pee your pants.

Also, our singer Matthew Hashimoto has been continuing to make audiences swoon at The Apollo.  He just won FIRST place at his second round, and will be going back to partake in semi-finals on May 16th.  Join us in chanting eerily for him.  I figure if we can make him into a deity, he'll surely win.

Okay, that's enough of me.

P.S. The artwork is all of my creation, but you have my permission to use it should you ever be making manor or cheese jokes. <3
